SUMMER PROGRAMS 2022



It’s called a play, so let’s play! In this class, students will learn to explore their creativity and imaginations through theatre games, improv exercises, and devised theatre techniques. By playing, they will gain an intuitive understanding of theatre and gain confidence as performers. Final performance for family and friends on the last day of class! Open to new and returning students.

Teaching Artists

DARCY PARKER BRUCE

Darcy Parker Bruce is a graduate of the MFA Playwriting program at Smith College. They are currently working on several projects including a cycle of plays investigating the relationship between small towns, queers, and American Glory. Their play, Always Plenty of Light at the Starlight All Night Diner can now be purchased through Broadway Play Publishing and their play, The Place That Made You, the second play in the Piedmont Cycle, is forthcoming from the same press. This summer their play, To The Moon And Back opens at Chester Theater Company.

ANNA RICCIUTI

Anna Ricciuti is a director, teaching artist, and technician who prioritizes new, innovative, and socially driven work and strives to create meaningful theatrical experiences for students of all ages. As a Connecticut native, she is absolutely thrilled to be joining the team at Playhouse on Park. Anna holds a BA in theatre from Muhlenberg College and her theatrical skills are diverse and varied. Some favorite recent credits include: THE REPAIR MAN (director, Muhlenberg College, 2018), ALICE IN CONCERT (production stage manager, Desultory Theatre Club, 2019), SOME GOOD TUNES (technical director, Simsbury Summer Theatre, 2020), and PIPPIN (director, Simsbury High School, 2022).
